From Canadair to DHC-515

It began in 1966 with the CL-215, which used piston engines. In 1993, Bombardier launched the CL-415, introducing turboprop engines and a digital cockpit. After the program moved to De Havilland Canada, the modernized DHC-515 was developed with structural upgrades such as winglets and advanced foam injection systems.
Why It Remains the Preferred Choice
The CL-415 remains highly valued because of its operational flexibility and proven record in wildfire suppression. Although production paused in 2015 due to lower demand, the program was revived to meet growing global needs. Variants such as the CL-415MP and CL-415EAF made it a leading choice for disaster management agencies in Europe and Canada.
